When I grow up I want to become a child again. I want to revisit a world where imagination and curiosity are fostered, and when creating masterpieces coloring outside of the lines is celebrated. Living in a highly competitive world that elevates the importance of deadlines over the quality of life, it is important to remind people of their childhood dreams. Embracing the idea of childhood utopia is a fundamentally significant element of my work.
Inspired by my background in community-theater, I am very attracted to viewing the gallery space as a blank stage where I create and place the elements that make it into a world that once only lived in my imagination. In order to create these environments of spectacle I have been incorporating aspects of Technology, with the traditional Art of Glassblowing. Glass allows me to make the elements of the worlds that I wish to see, and through light and animated projections, Technology gives me the ability to make them come to life.
